A Book Series Long in the Making

Tahoe Mountain Chickadee, a nature workbook series, was created by a twenty-four year Lake Tahoe resident who has degrees in both Landscape Architecture and Ecosystems Management. The books were originally created to teach Lake Tahoe Basin animals, biology, and ecology to the author's nine grandchildren. The volumes have now become a local guide for children of all ages.

Nancy M. Hardesty had a silent partner on the books, her mother, Mary Kay Menees, a third grade teacher. Together they created the learning tools of the books!
